How fast is too fast?

Neil did some testing on Dangly Too at the CamJam event yesterday. It turns out that DT has an amazing turn of speed! However this did mean he was sometimes difficult to stop, turn and control. He was doing lots of wheelies and turned over a couple of times. Oops!


What are we going to do about it?

  1. We are going to put some new slower motors in (shame). These will go about a third of the speed (160rpm vs 420rpm) but have the same physical dimensions, so they will be easy to fit.

  2. We are going to add a demo speed setting. This should mean that at other events, non-team members will be able to control the robot without the breakneck speeds experienced yesterday (thanks for this suggestion, Brian).
